It is difficult to specify an exact time interval for replacing the filter since individual use of the unit will vary. If you hold the filter cartridge (the filter mounted in the removable rear grill) up to the light and there is visible blockage, replace it. If it feels sticky or tacky, replace it. The filters are not reusable. DO  NOT try to extend their use life by washing, vacuuming or shaking them.

Our optical grade cerium oxide powder is ground to half the size of most cerium oxide for an exceptional polish on most materials including some of the most stubborn cabochons.

• 4 ounces of cerium oxide packaged in a convenient "ready to mix" bottle. Just add water according to the directions on the bottle, tighten the cap, give it a shake, and you are all set.
• Foam sponge applicator brush is packaged with each bottle of Polishing Powder.
